The show follows Dr. Zoe Hart a young doctor from New York City who moves to a small Southern town after inheriting a medical practice and soon meets an electric and eccentric group of characters.

Review Episode: Hoping it might help the residents of Bluebell accept her as one of their own, Zoe accepts an invitation to join Mayor Hayes on his float in the Founder's Day Parade. However, Zoe accidentally crashes his float, hurting her chances of winning over Lemon and the Bluebell residents. In addition, George Tucker, Bluebell's golden boy, informs Zoe that she is contractually obligated to bring in at least thirty percent of the business at the medical practice, otherwise Dr. Brick Breeland will have the option to buy out her half of the practice.
